Last morning, a little girl and her father decided to make the walk from their store to her grandparent’s home a little more interesting by running alongside each other. Soon the little girl, tired of running, jumped on to her father’s back and they chatted about the people they recognised down in the valley and what school would be like once it began. The water tank at her grandparent’s home needed fixing, resulting in this little journey. I was travelling at a pace close to theirs on the opposite side of the road, and was soon roped into the conversation with periodic shouts of ‘Ruth akka’. The little girl then proceeded to say things to me that were beyond my comprehension. It was an enjoyable walk nonetheless.
Even though it seems a perfectly normal, an almost every day kind of situation, I doubt it would have happened in a metro.
