The rock was still warm from the kisses of the day’s sun. Some dried fish that escaped the women’s baskets filled the air with their new found scent; the birds were dozing amongst the sleeping leaves of the watchful trees, as the fishermen heaved their vessels back and forth through the frothy waves.

The stars began to gather as I prayed. I let my voice carry for them all to hear. They listened, they watched, while I cried.

It was a night whose serenity and comfort I needed and for which I shall forever be grateful.
